After School Circus Skills Course 

 
Course Title: "Circus Fun!"

Course Description:

Students learn about the circus, and week-by-week learn a variety of fascinating skills such as magic, juggling, puppetry, balloon sculpture, face painting, costuming and clowning.

Course Objectives:

Students will:

1. improve self-esteem by learning exciting new skills.
2. learn the importance of reading as a way to learn more about the circus... or anything else!
3. improve digital dexterity and hand-eye coordination through a variety of interactive activities.
4. gain self-confidence in public speaking as a result of performing in front of other students.
5. learn how to behave as members of an audience for circuses and other live entertainment.
6. practice conflict resolution, good citizenship and effective social skills in an entertaining format.

Ideal Ages: pre-K through 1st grade or 2nd through 5th grade

Enrollment: minimum class size 10, maximum 20

Ideal Class Times: weekly, 60 minutes per class

Classroom Set-Up: Prefer gym or cafetorium, video monitor is extremely helpful.
